Our Philosophy

At Real World Forest School, we are committed to fostering a nurturing community of confident, creative, and resilient learners who deeply appreciate and respect nature. Our mission is to provide fun and meaningful experiences that enrich childhood, nurture curiosity, and cultivate a lasting connection with the natural world. We believe that learning through nature is a lifelong journey, which is why we also offer mindful and enriching experiences for adults and families, creating opportunities to reconnect, unwind, and grow together. Whether exploring the wilderness, developing new skills, or simply embracing the beauty of the outdoors, we inspire a love for nature in every generation. Real World Forest School is a registered CIC company and we are committed to offering outdoor experiences that create positive impact for individuals, families, and the wider community.

EMPOWER

As we move closer to a technocentric world, children and adults alike are missing out on the opportunity to build a deep and lasting connection with the natural environment. Essential life skills, lifelong memories, and meaningful experiences are best developed through real-world interactions, and our programs empower families to find a better balance between virtual life and immersive, hands-on exploration.

At Real World, we nurture a sense of belonging and community while fostering a deep respect for nature. We believe in a learner-centred approach, where children, adults, and families grow best through play, discovery, and creative processes. Through our activities, we provide opportunities for everyone to unplug and reconnect with nature and themselves while embracing nature’s wisdom, developing emotional intelligence, and strengthening life skills that enrich personal and family well-being., creating a community of confident, resilient and independent learners who thrive in nature.

We can’t wait to welcome you into the forest 🌱

Our after-school provision

Our after-school Forest School club is designed for children aged 8 + and runs every Monday during term time, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM.

We warmly welcome home educating families and recognise that some children are home educated because their needs were not met in traditional schools. At Real World Forest School, we provide a space where every child can feel safe, understood and valued.💚

Sessions are delivered in line with the six core Forest School principles, providing a safe, inclusive, and high-quality outdoor learning environment that supports children’s confidence, wellbeing, resilience, and social development.

As a community interest organisation, we are committed to improving access to nature and outdoor learning for all children. We therefore offer subsidised places, with a £5 courtesy contribution per session, helping to remove financial barriers and ensure that families who need it most can take part in regular, meaningful Forest School experiences.

Why parents love our Forest School:
Screen-Free Exploration: Children unplug from devices and reconnect with nature.
