At Real World Forest School, we believe that trust, transparency and safety are the foundation of high‑quality outdoor learning. Our policies are designed to protect children, support families, and ensure that every session is delivered with care, professionalism and integrity.

Safeguarding & Child Protection Policy
We are committed to keeping every participant safe. Our Safeguarding Policy explains how we recognise and respond to concerns, how we report issues, and the responsibilities of all adults on site. It includes safer working practice, Prevent Duty, child‑on‑child abuse, allegations procedures, whistleblowing and confidentiality. Designated Safeguarding Lead: Esther Wilson
Health & Safety and Emergency Procedures
Children’s physical safety is central to everything we do. This policy outlines our approach to site safety, supervision, first aid, emergency response, weather procedures, and our Missing Child Procedure.
Risk–Benefit Policy
Outdoor learning involves supported, meaningful risk‑taking. Our Risk–Benefit Policy explains how we balance risk with developmental benefits, how we assess activities, and how we empower children to make safe choices.
Behaviour Policy
We use a positive, respectful approach to behaviour. This policy outlines our expectations, boundaries, and how we support children to regulate emotions outdoors
Complaints Policy
We value open communication. Our Complaints Policy explains how families can raise an issue, how we respond, and the steps we take to resolve matters fairly and transparently
Privacy Notice (GDPR)
We take data protection seriously. This policy explains what information we collect, how it is stored securely, how long we keep it, and how it is used. Photographs will only be shared on our social media platforms where explicit written parental consent has been obtained
Food Hygiene
We adhere to strict food hygiene and safety procedures during all sessions in which food is prepared, handled or consumed. Hands and equipment are cleaned appropriately, food is cooked and served safely, and all activities are supervised by trained staff. Campfire cooking is conducted using designated areas, approved equipment and established safety protocols.

We welcome all children and are committed to creating an inclusive environment where every child feels valued and respected
SEND & Additional Needs Policy
We work closely with families to support children with additional needs. Activities are adapted where appropriate to ensure safe, meaningful participation.
Photography & Social Media Policy
We take privacy extremely seriously. Photographs are only taken using approved devices and stored securely. Photographs will only be used on social media where explicit written consent has been obtained from parents/carers.
Environmental Sustainability Policy
This policy explains how we care for the site, minimise impact, use natural materials responsibly, and teach children to respect the environment
